How Trendy Holiday Lets Began
We are Paul and Sally-Anne. Our journey with Trendy Holiday Lets really is about being in the right place at the right time — and believing in fate. We have known each other for over 18 years through work and life, but our personal relationship began just over nine years ago while working together at The Ambleside Salutation Hotel — Sal as Spa Manager and Paul as General Manager.
When lockdown arrived, life slowed down. Between Zoom calls, uncertainty about the future, and our shared love of the Lake District, we decided to take a leap. Just before the first lockdown, we purchased The Snug in Keswick — a place close to our hearts, as Keswick was where we had our first date.
From there, while planning how to reopen a large hotel and spending evenings scrolling Rightmove, our journey grew. Over the years we’ve been incredibly fortunate to add properties in Bowness-on-Windermere, Kendal, Ambleside, and of course Chamonix.
It’s been scary at times, always exciting, and a journey we’re truly grateful to be on.
A Family Business Through & Through
In October 2024, Sally Anne took the leap to go full-time into the business, which made a huge difference with small children (twin 10-year-old girls). From July 2025, I officially joined her — or as I like to say, working for her — and so far, I’m still employed, so it can’t be that bad!
We’re incredibly lucky to have amazing friends who help us keep everything running smoothly when we’re away, but don’t worry — we’re always contactable. We’re a bit like the kids, never far from our phones, but for us it’s not a chore — it’s a joy.
What’s Next for Us
